LIFELINE OFFERS ASSISTANCE TO THOSE AFFECTED BY THE EI OUTBREAK


Lifeline Community Care Queensland is responding locally to the Equine Influenza outbreak by providing counselling support to those affected, and assisting in their recovery.  SEQ divisions of Lifeline Community Care Queensland are delivering this counselling support through their Community Recovery Program, a program that’s specifically designed to support individuals and communities affected by disasters or events.

EQUINE INFLUENZA CRISIS COMMITTEE

We wish to advise and seek your support and commitment to a new united representative committee, elected at an industry crisis meeting held at the RNA showgrounds on Sunday 14th October 2007.
The meeting was called at extremely short notice due to the urgency and immediate action needed to resolve the current EI disaster situation. We offer a genuine apology to any group that was inadvertently omitted from an invitation and call upon you now to provide input in deciding the best way forward. The committee, called the Queensland Performance & Pleasure Horse Industry Group, is of the belief that the following key principle applies to the resolution of the current crisis:

Horse Movement = the beginning of economic activity / recovery
